ATA Enhances MC&E Schedule
American Trucking Associations announced Aug. 24 several additions to its annual Management Conference & Exhibition taking place Oct. 1-4 in Las Vegas.
The trade federation said featured speakers at this year’s event include John Bozella, president and CEO of the Association of Global Automakers; Diane Swonk, founder of DS Economics; former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card; Kent Lindner, senior vice president and chief operating officer of consumer risk analytics at Bank of America and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration chief Scott Darling.
“We know ATA’s members are leaders in this industry,” ATA President Chris Spear said in a statement. “MC&E is the perfect place not just to demonstrate that leadership, but to learn from fellow industry leaders about the new and exciting directions trucking and our association are headed.”
Other speakers include pollsters Peter Hart and Neil Newhouse as well as leaders in the field of automated vehicles during a Transport Topics-led panel featuring Josh Switkes, president of Peloton Technology.
“MC&E annually features one of the most impressive programs of any major trucking event, and this year is no different,” said Pat Thomas, ATA chairman and senior vice president of state government affairs for UPS Inc. “I would encourage anyone in our industry — member or not — who is serious about the future of trucking to join us this year in Las Vegas.”
UPS ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
The event will feature a concert by Grammy Award-winning musician John Fogerty, the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman who had a parade of hits in the 1970s and '80s including "Midnight Special," "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" and "Centerfield."
