American Trucking Associations wants the Department of Transportation to scrap its proposed revisions to the hours-of-service regulations in favor of negotiating a rule with industry and other stakeholders.
So far, DOT is not biting.
“The process by which these regulations are being revised isn’t driven by science, by health or safety and not the law,” McCorkle said June 16 at a DOT public hearing in Kansas City, Mo. “It appears to me there is a bureaucratic ‘rush to judgment’ to get something — anything — put in place before on national administration ends and another begins.
