ob Pitcher, formerly the director of American Trucking Associations’ state law department, has returned to the association as vice president for state laws, restoring an ATA function that had been lost in recent years, federation officials said.
Pitcher will be responsible for handling state law and tax issues when he begins working for the federation again on Oct. 28, said Richard Holcomb, ATA general counsel.
“I think he fills a void that we’ve had here for some time,” Holcomb said.
ince Pitcher left ATA in March 2000, the association has not been as attentive to state issues as it should have been, Holcomb said. “Unfortunately, on the state law issues, we didn’t really handle them,” he said.
