ATA Seeks Nominations for ’09-’10 America’s Road Team

Captains to Spread Trucking Industry’s Safety Message

American Trucking Associations said Wednesday it is seeking nominations for professional truck drivers to serve on the 2009-2010 America’s Road Team.

Sponsored by Volvo Trucks North America, the program is led by a group of professional truck drivers who share superior driving skills, strong safety records and a desire to spread the word about highway safety, ATA said.

“America’s Road Team truly represents the best of the best,” said ATA President Bill Graves. “The drivers selected to serve as captains have impressive driving records and unmatched enthusiasm for their job and for the industry.”

America’s Road Team Captains have traveled the country for 21 years, educating millions on the importance of safety, the essentiality of the industry and the need for pride and professionalism within the trucking industry, ATA said.

They appear at events ranging from driver safety meetings to National Truck Driving Championships to promote the message that “Safety is our Driving Concern.”
