ATA, State Truck Groups to Provide VMRS

American Trucking Associations has replaced J.J. Keller & Associates as the provider of Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards products.

VMRS was developed by ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council as a universal coding convention for maintenance reporting.

ATA said it will market the online information system through its Business Solutions division in conjunction with almost half of the nation’s state trucking associations.

ATA said VMRS can be used to document when, why and how maintenance is performed on equipment; improve equipment and parts inventory control; identify system, component and labor expenditures; help control costs and create greater efficiency among various shop locations; and manage a variety of equipment.
