ATA, TCA Hold Discussions About Reuniting Groups

WASHINGTON — American Trucking Associations Chairman David G. McCorkle said last week discussions are under way that could lead to a settlement of differences between ATA and the Truckload Carriers Association.

"We’re talking to TCA about bringing them back in the fold," McCorkle said Feb. 10, the first day of the three-day ATA 2002 Leadership Meeting here. "I think it can be done."

In March 2000, the fleet members of TCA voted narrowly not to integrate TCA operations with ATA. The decision separated representatives of trucking’s largest sector from the industry’s most powerful trade group.
