The Commercial Vehicle Training Association presented its Highway Safety Hall of Fame Award to Warren Hoemann, senior vice president of industry affairs at American Trucking Associations.
Hoemann received the award because of his work in making highways safer through developing policies, CVTA said.
“I am very honored,” Hoemann told Transport Topics.
While vice president at the California Trucking Association, he helped CVTA to establish itself during its early years. “And while at FMCSA, I carried forward the importance of driver training,” Hoemann added, referring to his time as deputy administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
ATA President Bill Graves said in a statement Hoemann “has provided outstanding service to the trucking industry for his entire career.”
Hoemann has also served vice president of government relations at Yellow Corp., predecessor to YRC Worldwide.
