Bennett Motor Express said it has acquired Cincinnati transportation company Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging Co. Terms were not disclosed.
Bennett said the acquisition expands its footprint in the midwestern and northeastern United States and Canada. The addition of Ace Doran’s 200 independent owner-operators increases Bennett’s fleet 25% to more than 800 trucks.
The acquisition is the largest ever for McDonough, Ga.-based Bennett Motor Express, which generates more than $150 million in annual revenue, according to the company.
“Ace Doran’s fleet of flatbeds, step decks and [removable goosenecks] is complementary to our current fleet. With this acquisition, we can provide additional specialized trailer and hauling capacity to customers around the country,” Bennett Motor Express CEO David Lowry, said in a statement.
Ace Doran’s day-to-day operations will continue from its headquarters, with former owner Dan Doran joining Bennett and retaining the title of president.
