Bridge Terminal Transport Acquired by Equity Firm

Platinum Equity said it has acquired Bridge Terminal Transport Inc. from Maersk Inc. Terms were not disclosed.

BTT, based in Charlotte, N.C., is one of the largest drayage providers in the United States and operates through a network of 28 terminals, 25 container yards and more than 1,300 owner-operators, according to Platinum.

“We have a lot of experience owning and operating transportation and logistics businesses that provide complex supply chain solutions,” Platinum Equity President of Portfolio Operations Bryan Kelln said in a statement.

“We understand what BTT's customers expect and are committed to delivering the highest levels of service and dependability,” he said.

A transition team from Platinum Equity is helping carve BTT out from Maersk and establish the newly acquired business as a stand-alone company.
