Rochelle Gorman, CEO of CalArk International, received the first Influential Woman in Trucking award this week at the Truckload Carriers Association meeting in San Diego.
The award recognized Gorman for her success in building the 35-year old Little Rock, Ark., truckload carrier, and tripling its revenue.
The award, sponsored by Women in Trucking Association and Navistar Inc., was presented by Women in Trucking’s President Ellen Voie at the TCA meeting.
Gorman was one of 37 women nominated for the initial award that is designed to raise awareness of women’s positive contributions to the trucking industry.
The other two finalists were Andreea Raaber, vice president at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, and Shelley Simpson, president of J.B. Hunt Transport Services’ integrated capacity solutions unit.
