Cartoon Caption Classic: Week Two Results

In Week Two of the Cartoon Caption Classic, two of our three top seeds were eliminated as voters trimmed our overall classic field from 12 competitors to just six.

Two competitors from each of the three heats advanced to Week Three competition.

A third round of voting with a third cartoon begins Feb. 13 for the six contestants who are still alive. Voters will select the two caption writers who will advance to Week Four's finals.

Here's a look at the Week Two cartoon, captions and voting results:

Heat One

Top seed Katya Koshedub was ousted from the tournament as Bill Brady, communications manager for U.S. Bank Freight Payment, and Jake Wallace, marketing communications specialist at PeopleNet, advanced from this heat. Week Two, Heat One: Vote for Up to Two to Advance

Another top seed failed to advance past Week Two in this heat, as Christen Whalen of Matson Logistics and Dan Thompson, a line haul driver for FedEx Freight, sailed into Week Three, while top seed Ashlee Kucinski came up short. Week Two, Heat Two: Vote for Up to Two to Advance

Heat Three

We're sorry to see our six eliminated contestants go, but we thank them for playing. And we extend best wishes to our remaining six, who enter Week 3's elimination battle that begins Feb. 13!
