CAT Scale Unveils Mobile App for Truck Weighing

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — CAT Scale Co. unveiled a mobile application that drivers can use to weigh their trucks without getting out of the cab.

During its announcement Thursday at the Mid-America Trucking Show here, the company said the app is designed to let drivers complete the weighing process in five minutes, compared with as much as an hour if a driver leaves the truck, stands in line and waits for a weighmaster.

The application will be available at no charge in June.

“This is going to make weighing for drivers so much easier,” Heather DeBaillie, CAT marketing manager, said at a press conference here about CAT Scale’s weighmytruck.com product.

The weighing information can be sent to as many as five e-mail addresses.

It will be available initially for Android phone users, she said, with plans to have an iPhone application available later this year.
