Celadon’s Quarterly Income Rises

Truckload carrier Celadon Group’s fiscal first-quarter net income rose 12% to $2.8 million, or 13 cents per share, from $2.5 million, or 11 cents, in the same period last year.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose 9.8% to $146.9 million, while freight revenue, which excludes fuel surcharges, fell 4% to $109.3 million.

Celadon Group is ranked No. 52 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
