Ceva Logistics has been chosen to operate a warehouse in Mexico for furniture and home goods retailer Ikea, the company announced July 27.

The Mexico City Ikea store will become the first retail location for the company in Latin America. Ceva has been awarded a multiyear contract to operate a dedicated warehouse and distribution center to support Ikea’s operations in the country.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this long-term contract with Ikea Mexico,” Dominik Dittrich, Ceva’s executive vice president of contract logistics for North America, said in a statement. “This is testimony to our expertise in customer and retail logistics and to our dedication.”

Ceva, a third-party logistics, transportation and supply chain company, ranks No. 16 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.

The company said the new contract is an extension of its global partnership with Ikea that dates five years. — Transport Topics
