Ceva Logistics Opens Foreign Trade Zone in Miami
Ceva Logistics said it has opened a Foreign Trade Zone warehouse in Miami, approved by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The trade zone is in Ceva’s Miami gateway operation and has a 4,172-square-foot compliance-controlled area and uses both of Customs and Border Protection’s approved inventory control systems.
“The Foreign Trade Zone is designed to lower the costs of import duties and provide tax relief, which customers can use to benefit their bottom line,” Brenda Custer-Espeleta, Ceva vice president of U.S. Customs Brokerage Operations, said in a statement.
Customers using the trade zone pay duties when goods are transferred from the facility to the United States, and harbor maintenance fees are due quarterly rather than on arrival, according to Ceva.
“Given the strategic importance of this location to our customers, the FTZ’s cost reduction options and solutions for our import customers are compelling,” Custer-Espeleta said.
