C.H. Robinson’s First-Quarter Income Improves

Transportation and logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide’s first-quarter profit rose to $86.3 million, or 50 cents a share, from $73 million, or 42 cents, a year ago.

Transportation gross profit rose 13.8% to $298.7 million, the company said late Tuesday.

Truck gross profit rose 13.2% for the quarter, driven by volume growth. Intermodal gross profit fell 2.2%, the company said.

Ocean transportation gross profit jumped 32.5%, while air transportation rose 17.8%, led by domestic business. Miscellaneous transportation gross profit rose 26%.
