C.H. Robinson’s Second-Quarter Profit Slips

C.H. Robinson Worldwide said its second-quarter net income fell slightly from a year ago, but revenue improved.

Its net income slipped to $112 million, or 70 cents a share, from $114 million, or 71 cents, a year ago.

Total revenue increased 11.3% to $3.3 billion, the transportation and third-party logistics company said late Tuesday.

Overall transportation revenue increased 16.8% to $431 million, led by truckload revenue, which rose 3.2% to $264 million. Less-than-truckload revenue jumped 7.6% to $60.7 million.



Ocean services revenue almost tripled to $49 million, intermodal revenue slipped 1% to $9.9 million and air revenue almost doubled to $20.2 million.

Customs revenue tripled to $9.8 million and other logistics services, including transportation management, rose 14.8% to $17 million.
