Chinese Manufacturer Planning Heavy-Duty Truck for U.S., European Markets, Report Says
Chinese truck maker Beiqi Foton Motor Co. has launched a heavy-duty truck for the U.S. and European markets, the first Chinese model built for high-end overseas markets, the China Daily reported.
The Auman GTL was designed and produced for markets with stringent environmental requirements, such as the United States and Europe, according to the company.
GTL stands for global technology leader, a symbol of Foton’s ambitions in the global commercial vehicle arena, China Daily said on its website
The company expects most of the units will be exported to Europe and the United States but declined to disclose targets, China Daily said.
Beiqi Foton, the top Chinese maker of commercial vehicles since 2003, shipped 693,000 units last year, China Daily said.
