Cold Weather Arrives, Pushing Diesel Higher

Diesel fuel prices jumped 2.4 cents per gallon last week, reversing four weeks of decline.

Analysts explained the change as a reaction to cold weather in the Northeast and cold comfort from the oil cartel, which has ruled out another production increase.

The national average retail price of diesel fuel, as reported Nov. 20 by the Energy Information Administration, stood at $1.627 per gallon.
