Company and Its Owner Get Probation for Falsifying Driver's Logs

A Brooklyn Park, Minn. trucking company and its owner were placed on probation in U.S. District Court for falsifying driver’s logs, the Department of Transportation’s inspector general announced.

Sather was sentenced on Dec. 23 to one year probation with 180 days of home detention. He was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine for making false statements to the department.

Barry Sather Truck Service was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay a $15,000 fine for conspiracy.

Salter pleaded guilty in September to falsifying driver’s logs over a two year period. He also admitted paying drivers’ expenses in cash in order to conceal the true source and location of the expenditures, falsifying medical records regarding the physical qualifications of the drivers and forging doctors signatures.
