Compass Transportation and Falcon Transport, the flatbed and dry van divisions of Ohio-based Compass Enterprises, will merge their trucking operations Dec. 31, company officials said.
All assets and liabilities will be assumed by the surviving entity, Falcon Transport Co., according to Don Constantini, chairman and part-owner of the business.
The two former divisions operate about 500 trucks each and, along with a third company, Comprehensive Logistics, are expected to generate revenue of about $112 million in 1999, Constantini said.
“The reason we’re doing it,” he said, “is to streamline the corporate structure and to be more efficient with compliance issues, such as insurance and state tax filings.
