Consumer Confidence Index Rises to 83 in May
The Conference Board’s index of U.S. consumer confidence increased to 83 in May from 81.7 a month earlier, the New York-based private research group said today.
The median forecast in a Bloomberg News survey of 62 economists called for a reading of 83. Estimates ranged from 71.5 to 85.1.
