Truckload carrier Continental Express said it has acquired Texas carrier Ranger Refrigerated Express Corp. Terms were not disclosed.
Ranger operates a terminal at its headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, and primarily serves the Texas market.
“Bringing this facility into the Continental network will allow us to service all of Texas and the entire Southwest United States,” Continental President Russell Gottemoeller said in a statement.
Continental, which specializes in refrigerated freight, said it has hired Ranger’s employees and that it plans to hire additional drivers and support staff.
Continental Express, Sidney, Ohio, also has terminals in Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky and South Carolina. It has a fleet of about 315 trucks and employs more than 420 drivers, mechanics and office staff.
