Covenant Reports Loss for 2Q

Covenant Transportation Group said it lost $3.1 million, or 22 cents per share, in the second quarter, compared with a loss of $2.3 million, or 17 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell 31%, to $144.1 million, while freight revenue excluding fuel surcharges declined 19.4% to $129.2 million, the truckload carrier said in a statement Monday.

Covenant Transportation Group is ranked No. 37 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
