Covenant Transport Adds Assets of N.C. Carrier
Covenant Transport, Chattanooga, Tenn., purchased the assets of ATW Inc., a long-haul truckload carrier based in Greensboro, N.C., in a move that furthers Covenant’s expansion efforts and is expected to improve its earnings.
Covenant President David R. Parker said there is little overlap of customers, so the acquisition is expected to provide “some new growth opportunities.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Both companies specialize in hauling time-sensitive truckload freight coast to coast using team drivers.
