U.S. and Canadian retail pump prices of diesel exhaust fluid remained stable in June, although there were some fluctuations for wholesale quantities, according to a monthy report by consulting firm Integer Research Ltd.
The average U.S. pump price for DEF remained at $2.79 a gallon, where it has stood since November. The Canadian price is 80 cents a liter, a level that has not changed since October 2011.
DEF is a urea-based solution for aftertreatment for engines that utilize selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology.
Integer’s latest issue of DEF Tracker, released Friday, said the refill price for large, plastic totes dipped by one cent a gallon. However, partial tank truck bulk rates moved up by 6 cents a gallon.
During June, almost 50 truck stops added DEF pumps, about half of them by Pilot Flying J.
