The Delaware Department of Transportation plans to use biodiesel made from a blend of soybean oil and conventional diesel in its state vehicles.

The aim is to promote a marketable clean diesel that will reduce smog and help the state’s farmers, according to the agency.

Ruan Transportation Management Systems announced the completion of field testing of a grease for fifth wheels that uses 70% soybean oil. The tests were conducted by the University of Northern Iowa’s Ag-based Industrial Lubricants Research Program.
