Deutsche Post said Tuesday it has appointed Ken Allen to lead its DHL Express unit in the United States, Bloomberg reported.
Allen will replace Hans Hickler after overseeing DHL Express in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Deutsche Post Chief Executive Officer Frank Appel said at the company’s annual shareholders meeting in Cologne, Germany, Bloomberg reported.
Hickler will remain on DHL’s global management board, Bloomberg said, citing a company spokeswoman.
The Germany-based parent company trying to turn around the division after at least five years of losses, Bloomberg said.
The Teamsters union last week ratified a new five-year contract with DHL covering about 7,000 U.S. workers.
DHL Americas is ranked No. 3 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
