DHL Express to Build Shanghai Cargo Hub

DHL Worldwide Express, part of Germany’s Deutsche Post AG, said it will build a $175 million cargo hub in Shanghai to help the parcel courier accommodate growing trade in Northern Asia, Bloomberg News reported Monday.

The hub will be located at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport and is expected to be operational in the second half of 2010, DHL said.

DHL does business in the United States as DHL Americas, which ranks No. 3 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
