Diesel Price Stays Flat at $3.66 a Gallon

The national average diesel price remained virtually unchanged, nudging up just one-tenth of a cent to $3.66 a gallon, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data released Feb. 3.

The mild increase comes after an upswing of 11.3 cents and a 5.6-cent decline over the previous two weeks.

Trucking’s main fuel has risen 9.9 cents a gallon since the first report of the new year Jan. 6, and costs 23.9 cents less than at this time in 2024.

Regional Trends

Diesel’s average price ticked up in three PADD regions, dropped in one and was unchanged in the Midwest. The biggest gain was 4 cents a gallon in the Rocky Mountain area; the biggest drop was 2.7 cents in the East Coast.
