Diesel Rebounds More Than a Penny

The average price of diesel fuel rose 1.3 cents a gallon last week, gaining back half of the decline posted in the previous two weeks.

In addition, the cost of crude oil continued to rise last week, signaling the likelihood of even higher diesel prices to come.



“I don’t see much good news out there for trucking,” said Tom Kloza, editorial director of Oil Price Information Service in Rockville, Md.

The federal Energy Information Administration reported May 15 that the national average price of diesel fuel was $1.415 a gallon, up from $1.402 in the previous week.
