Dorsey Trailers Suspends Operations, Mulls Bankruptcy

Dorsey Trailers (DSYT), whose roots go back to 1911, has stopped making new trailers at all three of its manufacturing plants and is considering filing for bankruptcy protection.

“After meeting with our lender, we have decided to suspend operations at our three manufacturing plants in Elba, Ala., Cartersville, Ga., and Dillon, S.C., until all of our options can be evaluated,” Chief Executive Officer John Pugh said in a Nov. 28 statement.

“Filing a petition for bankruptcy is a distinct possibility,” he said.
