The Department of Transportation has scheduled public webinars beginning Sept. 8 on proposals to improve the movement of freight across transportation networks and ways to advance aviation technologies in the coming years.
The 90-minutes sessions will be held through Sept. 10, focusing on the “future of freight,” “shaping America’s aviation future,” and “moving America forward.”
“Each webinar will look at the landscape of transportation systems and provide the opportunity to identify challenges and opportunities that our country will face in the coming decades. These sessions seek to provide an intellectual reset for transportation policy over the next three decades, building off previous years of existing strategic transportation plans, research and visions,” according to an announcement by DOT’s Public Engagement Office.
The announcement did not indicate who would moderate the webinars. Registration is free, and details can be found on the agency’s website.
DOT’s National Freight Advisory Committee provides agency leaders legislative recommendations on freight transportation. Last year, the House Transportation and Infrastructure 21st Century Freight Transportation Panel unveiled freight policy recommendations meant to improve the flow of goods across transportation sectors.
