Durable Orders Edge Up 0.1%

Durable goods orders rose 0.1% in November, the first gain in four months, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

The uptick followed a revised 0.4% drop in October that was larger than originally forecast, Commerce said.

Excluding transportation orders, bookings fell 0.7%.

Economists forecast orders to rise 2% and 0.5% excluding transport orders, Bloomberg reported.

Trucking is a major beneficiary of durable goods manufacturing, hauling both components and finished goods.
