Dynamex Names James Welch CEO

Logistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc. said Wednesday it has named James Welch its new chief executive officer, starting Nov. 1.

Welch, 54, most recently provided consulting services and served as interim CEO of JHT Holdings. Prior to that, he was CEO of YRC Worldwide unit Yellow Transportation, from 2000 to 2007.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome James to the company and are fortunate to have attracted a leader of his caliber and experience,” said Dynamex Chairman and CEO Rick McClelland, who will remain the company’s chairman.

Dallas-based Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services, is ranked No. 60 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
