Logistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc. said its second-quarter net income was $3.4 million, or 33 cents a share, compared with $3.7 million, or 35 cents, a year earlier.
Sales for the fiscal quarter ended Jan. 31 rose 10.9% to $112 million, the company said late Wednesday.
The company’s core growth rate, excluding the impact of the stronger Canadian dollar and higher fuel surcharges, was about 2.2%.
Dynamex also reaffirmed its earnings guidance of $1.45 to $1.55 per share for its 2008 fiscal year.
Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services, is ranked No. 75 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
