Logistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc.’s fiscal fourth-quarter profit grew to $2.8 million, or 28 cents a share, from $1.8 million, or 18 cents, a year ago.
Sales for the quarter ended July 31 rose 8% to $105 million, the company said late Thursday.
Dynamex credited the sales increase largely to a strong Canadian dollar and higher fuel surcharges.
For the full fiscal year, the company saw its income increase to $10.7 million, ot $1.09 per share, compared with $8.8 million, or 89 cents, the previous year.
Sales grew to $406.5 million in the year, compared with $402.1 million in fiscal 2009.
Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services, is ranked No. 70 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
