Eaton Unites Aftermarket, Truck Clutch Units
Industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. said it has combined its truck and automotive aftermarket divisions with its heavy-duty clutch building subsidiary into a single entity called the global aftermarket and clutch business unit.
Eaton, Kalamazoo, Mich., manufactures transmissions, clutches, hybrid power systems and other components for heavy-duty truck manufacturers, and makes a diverse range of products for the industry’s aftermarket. It also makes many of the same parts for cars, as well as for the automotive aftermarket industry.
The new unit “will have global responsibility for marketing, sales, business development, engineering, program management and manufacturing strategy,” Eaton said.
Eaton named John Beering, currently general manager of its global clutch division, as the unit’s vice president and general manager.
“This new structure will help us to put a greater focus on the aftermarket in both the automotive and commercial vehicle markets, and it will also allow us to better apply our resources to grow these businesses globally,” Ken Davis, president of Eaton’s vehicle group, said in a statement.
“John’s business leadership skills and experience position him very well to lead and grow these businesses for us.”
