Intrenet Inc. installed a new management team at Eck Miller Transportation on April 18 after the sudden defection to a competitor of the carrier’s three top executives.
Philip E. Weaver, company president; Scot Elliott, chief financial officer; and Stewart Gant, executive vice president for sales and business development, all jumped ship within 24 hours of each other, said John Chandler, chief operating officer at Internet. The trio have set up an office for rival Malone Freight Lines of Rockport, Ind., he said.
Replacing the departed executives are Craig A. Smith, the new president, and Lee Deeg, now the chief financial officer. Intrenet is still interviewing candidates for the sales position.
Smith was executive vice president of Advanced Distribution System, another Intrenet subsidiary based in Columbus, Ohio. Before joining ADS, he was a manager for North American Van Lines and Airborne Freight Corp.
