Expeditors’ First-Quarter Income Improves

Logistics firm Expeditors International of Washington said its first-quarter profit rose 12% to $66.5 million, or 30 cents a share, from $59.3 million, or 27 cents, a year ago.

Revenue gained 17% to $1.31 billion, the company said late Wednesday. Operating income rose to $105.6 million, from $94.5 million a year ago.

Seattle-based Expeditors International of Washington is ranked No. 18 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics companies.
