EZE Buys Houston Heavy-Haul Trucking Company

EZE Trucking, Rialto, Calif., said it has acquired Rig Runners Inc., a Houston-based heavy-haul trucking and logistics company.

EZE, which is owned by private-equity firm Atlantic Street Capital, has trucking and logistics operations that serve companies that need to transport heavy specialty equipment such as cranes, buses, railcars and turbines.

The combined companies will have 16 terminals, more than 700 trailers and 400 power units and drivers, and EZE said the acquisition makes it one of the biggest specialized transportation businesses in the United States.

“The addition of Rig Runners’ strong team and extensive resources will greatly enhance our ability to serve existing customers operating in multiple geographies,” EZE Trucking CEO Peter Marshall said in a statement.
