FedEx Corp. delivered a river otter pup named Oliver to the Downtown Aquarium in Denver last week after an overnight layover at the FedEx Express World Hub in Memphis.
Oliver and handler Kris Porter from Tampa Bay's Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife were flown from Tampa to Memphis to Denver on FedEx aircraft. The delivery was delayed a day when a snowstorm closed Denver International Airport.
Porter had been caring for Oliver since earlier in March after the pup was rescued by a customer at a Tampa gas station.
Oliver joined a pair of American river otters at the aquarium owned by Houston-based restaurant chain Landry's.
FedEx ranks No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
