FedEx Corp. said its less-than-truckload unit, FedEx Freight, improved its service in key U.S. markets, and that its FedEx National LTL unit now provides long-haul shippers with improved on-time service.

FedEx Freight said it cut transit times in half, from two days to next day, from the Las Vegas area to California cities of Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento and Bakersfield, and from Vancouver, British Columbia to the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

The LTL unit also is enhancing its Canadian service offerings with FedEx Freight Canada, its first direct LTL presence in Canada, the company said Wednesday.

FedEx Corp. is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
