FMCSA Shuts Down Wisconsin Carrier

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said it has ordered WTSA US Express to cease operations, declaring the Wisconsin-based trucking company an “imminent safety hazard.”

FMCSA said it ordered the shutdown after finding that the company employed drivers without valid commercial driver’s licenses and medical certificates and allowed its drivers to operate without records of duty status. The company also did not test its drivers for controlled substances, the agency said Friday.

“Commercial truck and bus companies that blatantly violate federal safety standards and jeopardize public safety will be shut down. Safety is always our top priority,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement.
