Foltz to Leave Georgia Ports Authority, Griffin Is Successor at Port Agency
The Georgia Ports Authority announced that Executive Director Curtis Foltz is leaving the agency on June 30 and will be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Griff Lynch.
Foltz, who has headed the agency that runs the second largest port on the East Coast, will step down on June 30 at the end of the current fiscal year, the statement said. He will provide consulting services for a year after he leaves the post he has held for six years.
"Curtis Foltz has led the GPA to achieve great things over the past six years as executive director, and the six years prior as chief operating officer," said Jim Walters, chairman of the agency’s board. "In addition to record cargo growth, GPA, under Curtis' leadership, modernized its terminals and developed operational practices that increased efficiency, improved safety and focused on environmental stewardship.”
The port’s board accepted a nominating committee recommendation to succeed Foltz.
"Griff's extensive operational and port management skills make him the perfect candidate to replace Curtis and continue the success the authority has achieved," said board member Jimmy Allgood, who headed the nominating committee.
