Fontaine Offers Lightweight Steel Fifth Wheel

Fontaine Fifth Wheel now offers the Fontaine 6NWB, the lightest steel fifth wheel assembly in the industry, according to the company.

The product features the light-weight 6000 No-Slack top plate mounted to the light-weight Fontaine NWB sliding bracket.

“We’re really proud of the engineering team that made this happen,” Mike Randolph, Fontaine Fifth Wheel vice president of sales and marketing for North America, said in a statement. “Using finite element analysis technology and strategic placement of high-strength alloy steel, they accomplished this goal without sacrificing an ounce of performance, durability or load rating.”

Fontaine Fifth Wheel, based in Jasper, Ala., is a unit of Marmon Highway Technologies, a Berkshire Hathaway company.
