Kentucky Trucking Association
Guy Young, an official of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association the last 22 years, has been named CEO of the Kentucky Trucking Association.
The 59-year-old Alabama native fills the void caused by Jamie Fiepke’s resignation in March.
“It’s a great opportunity,” said Young, who worked at Transport South, a petroleum transport company in Georgia before joining GMTA, where he served as vice president, safety director and chief development officer. “I’m looking forward to the challenge. I learned a lot about associations in Georgia, and I want to help Kentucky grow the membership.”
GMTA CEO Ed Crowell had mixed emotions about Young’s departure for Kentucky.
“Guy was the first person I hired when I came to GMTA and he’s been both a good friend and a valuable staff member,” Crowell said. “He takes a lot of experience to Kentucky. He’s very organized and very professional. He always represented us well and he’ll represent KTA well.”
Young noted that truck driver is the most common occupation in Kentucky.
