Virginia “Ginnie” Henkels, Swift Transportation’s former chief financial officer, has landed a new post on the board of directors at Viad Corp., which serves the live event and travel industries.
Henkels, 49, was the top financial officer at the Phoenix-based truckload carrier from 2004 until its merger with Knight Transportation Inc. was completed in September. Henkels previously was a financial officer at Honeywell International Inc.
Viad is also based in Phoenix.
“We are delighted to welcome Ginnie to the Viad Board of Directors. She brings extensive public company experience in the areas of finance, accounting, treasury and mergers and acquisitions, as well as deep knowledge of the capital markets and strategic planning,” Viad Chairman Richard Dozer said.
Just days after the Knight-Swift merger was complete, Henkels joined the Board of Directors at LCI Industries, an original equipment manufacturer of recreational vehicles, buses and trailers used to haul boats, livestock, equipment and other cargo.
