Forward Air Buying Black Hawk Freight Services

Forward Air Corp. said it has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of Black Hawk Freight Services, a privately held provider of transportation services headquartered in Milan, Ill.

Terms were not disclosed.

Black Hawk generated about $30 million in revenue in 2006. The transaction is scheduled to close by Monday and is subject to customary closing conditions, Forward Air said in a statement.

Black Hawk provides expedited line haul, local cartage, exclusive use vehicles, customs services, and pool distribution services.

Forward Air is ranked No. 66 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
