Forward Air Closes Central States Purchase
Forward Air Corp. said Feb. 6 it completed its $95.6 million acquisition of Central States Trucking Co. and Central States Logistics.
The deal was announced in January. Privately held Central States, a drayage carrier based in Bensenville, Ill., had unaudited revenue of about $66 million last year.
Forward Air, which ranks No. 45 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers, said the acquisition is expected to be accretive to its 2014 earnings.
